information on giraffes
Scientific Name:
The Giraffe's scientific name is Giraffa Camelopardallas. Though it is mostly reffered to by it's common name. Body Covering: The Giraffe has an orange and beige coat, with orange and brown spots. This is so it can camouflage into it's surroundings. It also has a short strip of hair down the back of it's long neck. Average Size: Fully grown Girrafes can grow 5 to 6 metres. Though they are born at 3 metres tall. Behaviours: Giraffes walk on four legs and are land animals. Enclosure: The Giraffe enclosure was a lot larger than some other enclosures. It had a tall hut for them to get some shade and the rest was filled with flat dirt. |

As the Giraffe has no arms it uses it's tongue as hands. The Giraffe's tongue is strong, flexible and nearly half a metre long. The Giraffe tongue can pick all the leaves off a branch, or personally pluck them one by one.
